Not unless you manually replaced QT Player v10.0 which is the most current Snow Leopard version with a copy of v10.1 which is only available in Lion before you upgraded to Lion. I'm not the most tech-savvy guy in the world when it comes to diagnostics and logistics of everything, I just need iMovie to create highlight videos for our work social media account.I do want to add that the version of QT 10.1 existed before I upgraded to Lion. My mac is from 2010 and just can't quite handle downloading anything and everything like it used to. Therefore, I cannot watch the videos I've taken via Quicktime, and I cannot upload them to iMovie because the system will not even allow me to select them for import.Īny suggestions for fixing this without downloading/spending on a third party converter.

This week I tried doing the same, as I've done for weeks now, and it gives me the "converting" on quicktime following up with this message "To see if additional software is available that will enable QuickTime Player to open the movie, click Tell Me More".

So I use iMovie a decent amount for work and I take a lot of videos on my phone (ranging from 2 second videos to 30 second videos), I then upload them to google drive, download them on my mac and then upload to iMovie. does anyone have any idea how I can get my clip imported properly from my iPhone?

I tried exporting that clip from Photos to my Downloads folder and importing it from there but it's not associated with the edits, it's just a new media file.Īpparently you used to be able to export your movie using Theater but that no longer is an option.īefore I start all over again.

I've tried importing that clip into Photos and using it from there but it's not associated with the edits I made, it's just a new media file. I found a trick on the web where you select all your clips in the timeline and use edit->cut, then delete the missing clip from your event media and re-import it from your iPhone, then use edit->paste to restore all your edits, BUT when I do the re-import, the re-imported screen recording off my iPhone still shows up with the little camera symbol. I am using iMovie 10.2.1 and completed a TON of edits on a project and went to export it and one 18 minute long screen recording from my iPhone's screen has a little camera symbol on the media indicating it did not completely import I guess. IMovie 10.2.1 - This item cannot be shared while it is still referencing media on the camera. It may just be me, but everything about this new iMovie seems like a MASSIVE downgrade, with basic features removed for no reason - like the auto-adjust frame rate amongst them.) So I updated to the newest iMovie, 10.1.12. And iMovie 9.0.9, which I had been using, apparently doesn't work on Mojave.

I'm using a MacBook Pro Mid 2012 and I recently needed to update to Mojave 10.14.6 after replacing the hard drive. (Question over, but some more background. Is there a way for this iMovie to adjust the fps of an imported movie, since I know in the previous version it gave you the option to auto adjust the clips to the same frame rate. Don't know if it's a frame rate issue, but it wasn't a problem in iMovie 9.0.9 where I did the exact same thing and had NO issues. If I edit the speed of either, I can get the very beginning and the end synced, but the rest is completely de-synced, and it's very noticeable it's out of sync not even a minute later. When I go to edit them in iMovie (with the QT video in a picture-in-picture so they play along side each other) the QT video/iphone sync points don't match anymore. I import the iPhone video through iMovie (10.1.12) then the QT vid on my computer. I have very clear moments where I sync with what I'm watching. I'm using an iPhone 5se to record myself watching a quicktime movie.
